Since weather conditions at extreme altitudes can change quickly, you need to be able to adapt to them with your clothing. So the ideal clothing is:
- Variable
- Breathable
- Warm
- Wind repellent
- Movement optimized
Natural fibres - the best for hunting clothing
Microscopically, a natural fibre and a synthetic fibre can be compared in the same way as a tree trunk with bark and a plastic pipe. The natural fibre is open-pored and can absorb and release moisture. Furthermore, natural fibres have air inclusions which lead to a much better insulation. In practice one feels then in natural clothing over a further temperature spectrum well.
Advantages of natural fibres based on wool in hunting practice
- Natural thermoregulation property, as woollen goods consist of up to 85% air and their microstructure prevents the warm body air from escaping.
- Flame resistant, therefore no danger around the campfire
- Natural self-cleaning, your hunting clothes therefore remain almost odourless Wool smells neutral and fresh again after a short airing.
- Pure wool is antistatic
- Wool reflects light less, you "melt" better with the environment
